Content of Course
This 90 minute course (originally presented as our 2020 Quarter 3 Update) provides a comprehensive overview of the top ten accounting and financial reporting issues arising from the coronavirus pandemic. Key topics include:
- Determining whether the pandemic is an adjusting or non-adjusting post Balance Sheet event;
- Impairment of assets;
- Accounting for government support;
- Dividends;
- Going concern; and
- Disclosure
The update then briefly provides guidance for specialist areas, including charities and looks at the potential audit report modifications which may be necessary.
The last few minutes of the update looks forward to updated auditing standards effective from the end of this year.
