Content of Course

Compliance with the Money Laundering regulations has never been so important, or arguably, so difficult:

• The expectations of supervisory bodies, including the ACCA and ICAEW have increased significantly over the past twenty four months;
• The pandemic has resulted in a surge in fraudulent activity, but not necessarily an increase in reports made by firms; and
• The current conflict in Ukraine has emphasised the need to robustly consider financial and trade sanctions when acting for firms.

This course provides an overview of the Regulations and current hot topics, including sanctions and explains how they impact accountancy firms. The course also covers requirements of the Guidance for the Accountancy Sector issued by the CCAB, which firms must follow and provides an overview of HAT's Anti-Money Laundering Procedures Manual and gives guidance on how this should be tailored before allowing time to discuss common problems and scenarios in this area. There will also be an opportunity for delegates to discuss any specific concerns they may have.
