Rob’s varied role includes presenting courses, conducting hot and cold file reviews, conducting Practice Assurance Compliance Reviews and supporting firms on our technical helpline. Rob joined the team in July 2016 and brings a wealth of experience having joined from a seven partner firm in East London where he was a Senior Audit Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities

Rob’s major areas of responsibility are:

  • Presenting our quarterly technical update meetings
  • Writing and presenting other courses covering bookkeeping, audit and related issues
  • Carrying out hot and cold file reviews
  • Carrying out Practice Assurance Compliance Reviews (including AML compliance, client money compliance, DPDB compliance and audit compliance
  • Working on the technical helpline

Rob graduated from The University of Teesside in 1995 with a degree in Accounting & Finance. He trained as a Chartered Accountant at a small firm in Stratford, East London and became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ACA) in March 1999. Shortly after qualifying Rob joined a top 50 London based firm (MRI Moores Rowland LLP, now part of Mazars) and progressed to Audit Manager. Rob then moved to Haslers Chartered Accountants in Loughton, Essex, as Senior Audit Manager and worked there for 9 years.. Over the years Rob has worked on the accounts and audit of all sizes of clients in the not-for-profit sector (charities, academies), manufacturing, retail, pharmaceuticals, FCA regulated, property investment, construction industry and other sectors and now as part of HAT has hot and cold reviewed hundreds of files of all sizes and compliance reviewed all sizes of practices as well as assisting in the training of hundreds of ICAEW/ACCA/AAT students.

Rob’s personal interests revolve around his family, Formula 1, TV comedy panel shows and computer gaming.
