Adam Loake FCCA

Adam’s varied role includes presenting courses, conducting quality control file reviews and supporting firms on our technical helpline. Adam joined the team in June 2021 and brings a wealth of practical experience, having spent 16 years working in practice at independent and top 20 firms, similar in size to many HAT firms.. 

Roles and Responsibilities

Adam’s major areas of responsibility are:

  • Presenting our quarterly technical update meetings
  • Writing and presenting other courses covering audit and related issues, including our Career Development courses
  • Carrying out quality control file reviews
  • Working on the technical helpline

Adam started his career in accountancy as a school leaver with a small firm in Northampton. He then completed his training with Haines Watts in Bedford, becoming a member of the ACCA in October 2009. Post qualification, Adam joined Keens Shay Keens (now part of MHA MacIntyre Hudson) in Milton Keynes for seven years, working his way up to Senior Manager in the audit and accounts department, looking after a diverse portfolio of general practice clients. He then moved on to Kingston Smith, joining their West End office for two years, continuing to work in general practice with an increasing involvement in internal training within the firm. Prior to joining HAT, Adam spent a year at the University of Northampton completing his degree studies, graduating in the summer of 2021.

Outside work, Adam is a keen cyclist and guitar player and is also a qualified ski instructor.
