With all the publicity last year many firms have been asking us when the new SRA Accounts Rules will become effective. Our honest answer has been ‘we don’t know’! However, 1 October 2019 has for some time felt the most likely date. The SRA have published an Update which confirms that no decision has yet been taken about implementation of the new Rules, although this is expected imminently. Given that the SRA have promised six months notice of any changes, this supports a 1 October implementation. We’ll update you as soon as we have details.
In the meantime, SRA assignments will continue and we have two courses running this month:
- Wednesday 13 March: Introduction to SRA Assignments – a full day for less experienced staff explaining the current rules and how to complete an assignment
- Tuesday 19 March: SRA Update – Getting Your Report Right – a half day course for experienced team members covering the new rules and current problems on assignments.
