Content of Course

The Practical Auditing course prepares participants, typically with around six months’ experience, for the year ahead. During this time, they will take on greater responsibility, completing more assignments independently, contributing more within larger teams, and revisiting clients with an expanded role.

Using a blend of lectures, case studies and video examples, the course provides a hands‑on introduction to core auditing skills and key areas trainees regularly encounter in practice.

This course covers:

• Obtaining sufficient and appropriate audit evidence
• Understanding key audit procedures and how to interpret their results
• Auditing major balance sheet areas, including stock, debtors and creditors
• Addressing more complex areas, including accounting estimates
• Performing effective analytical procedures
• Dealing with fraud risks and understanding the Money Laundering Regulations
• Current issues in audit and financial reporting
