Whilst many charities have already prepared one set of financial statements under the FRS 102 SORP 'teething problems' with the disclosures required by this SORP are still rife and some smaller charities may now be adopting the FRS 102 SORP for the first time. This course addresses these issues and provides a general update on the accounting and financial reporting regimes that affect charities, including:
  • A recap on the key changes introduced by the FRS 102 SORP;
  • Common disclosure errors in charity annual reports;
  • Recent changes in Charity Commission Guidance on auditors' and independent examiner's duty to whistle-blow;
  • Independent Examinations – changes in the Commissions new Directions (if these have been finalised);
  • Revision of the following areas:-
    • Fund accounting
    • Thresholds for financial report and auditing.
  • Other current issues
